A conference lodge, set on the embankment of the Vaal River just outside the town of Parys, in part of the Vredefort Dome, well known internationally for its archeological and geographical heritage as the oldest meteorite site in the world.
The centre was designed and constructed entirely by ourselves with our own construction teams.
The facility consisted of a 450 seat conference hall in traditional thatch roofing and over night accommodation for 120 guests in the theme of a contemporised Zulu hut design.
We devised a method of producing all side shutters and beams on site by means of casting concrete into steel moulds, to create a form of permanent shuttering and to enhance concrete curing.
