OFFICE REFURBISHMENT

This project entails the refurbishing of a house originally built in Parktown in 1932.

Most of the original structure will be retained, except for the original sub-urbian pitched roof, which will be removed and replaced with a contemporary mono-pitched roof in a De-Constructivist style.

A Mezzanine level will be added on the street facade, to facilitate managerial offices. Overall, the interior design theme will be an industrialised style, to compliment the De-Constructive exterior. All internal divisions will be clear float glass with sand blasted motifs or brushed aluminium venetian blinds.

The first refurb design concept (Option 1), portrayes a Brutalist off-shutter concrete facade structure, essentially concealing the original pitched roof, with glass infill panels.
